Age 45-49 Health Assessment

If you’re aged between 45 and 49, Medicare provides a one-off health assessment designed to help you stay well and reduce your risk of developing serious health conditions in the future. This assessment is fully covered by Medicare, so there is no out-of-pocket cost to you.

The aim is early detection and prevention. During your visit, our doctors and nurses will look at your overall health, family history, and lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise, sleep, and stress. We’ll check for common risks including heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. You’ll also have the chance to talk about mental health, alcohol use, and any other concerns you may have.

From there, we work with you to create a personalised health plan. This may include blood tests, lifestyle advice, referrals for further checks, or support services to help you stay healthy and active.

The 45–49 health assessment is a valuable opportunity to take stock of your health at a key stage in life. By identifying risks early, we can provide support and treatment before problems become serious—helping you protect your health and wellbeing for the years ahead.

Age 75+ Health Assessment

Once you turn 75, Medicare provides a free annual health assessment to help you stay independent, safe, and well supported as you get older. This comprehensive check-up is fully covered by Medicare, meaning there is no cost to you.

The 75+ health assessment focuses on your overall wellbeing, with particular attention to areas that commonly affect older adults. Our doctors and nurses will look at your physical health, memory and mood, mobility, vision and hearing, and your ability to manage daily activities. We also review your medications to ensure they are safe, effective, and not causing unwanted side effects.

Just as important, we’ll talk about your social supports, home safety, and any services that may help you continue living independently and confidently. If needed, we can organise referrals for allied health, community services, or specialist care.

This yearly health check is a chance to step back and look at the bigger picture of your health, rather than focusing only on single issues. By picking up on problems early and planning ahead, we can help you enjoy the best possible quality of life in your later years.

Heart Health Assessment

A Heart Health Assessment is a Medicare-funded check-up for people aged 30 and over, designed to assess your risk of heart disease and support long-term cardiovascular health.

During the appointment, our doctors and nurses will review your medical and family history, lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise, smoking, and alcohol use, and any existing health conditions. We’ll also check your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels. These results help us calculate your risk of heart attack or stroke in the next five years.

You’ll receive a personalised health plan tailored to your needs. This may include lifestyle advice, support programs, medication review, or referrals to allied health or specialists if needed.

The assessment is bulk billed, with no cost to you, and can be repeated every 12 months if eligible. It’s a simple but powerful step to protect your heart health for the future.

Menopause and Perimenopause Health Assessment

Our Medicare-funded Menopause and Perimenopause Health Assessment is available with no out-of-pocket cost. At Camberwell Medical Group, we provide supportive, evidence-based care for women experiencing the changes of perimenopause and menopause.

These life stages can bring hot flushes, sleep issues, mood changes, weight gain, and shifts in menstrual cycles. Our doctors take a thorough look at your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle, and assess risks such as osteoporosis, heart disease, and metabolic changes.

We work with you to develop a personalised management plan, which may include lifestyle advice, natural approaches, or medical treatments such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT) if suitable.

Every woman’s experience is unique. Our goal is to give you clear information, safe options, and ongoing care so you can manage symptoms, maintain well-being, and protect your health into the future.
