Mental health concerns can affect mood, sleep, concentration, relationships, work and day-to-day activities. They can also occur alongside physical health concerns.
Your GP can listen to what you have been experiencing, review relevant physical and mental health factors and discuss appropriate next steps. Depending on your circumstances, this may include ongoing GP care, a Mental Health Treatment Plan or referral to another health professional.
Mental health concerns can take time to discuss. Contact reception if you think you may need a longer consultation.
Eligibility and Medicare requirements apply. Your GP can discuss whether a Mental Health Treatment Plan is appropriate for your circumstances.
Your appointment is tailored to your concerns, symptoms and personal circumstances.
Discuss symptoms, personal circumstances, medical history and factors that may be affecting your wellbeing.
Your GP can discuss management options and arrange follow-up appointments based on your needs.
Where appropriate, your GP may recommend psychology, psychiatry, allied health or other support services.
Reception can help you choose the appropriate appointment type.
Fees vary depending on the consultation, procedure and individual circumstances. Some services and procedures are privately billed.
