When your child becomes unwell.
Children can pick up infections in schools and childcare settings despite sensible hygiene and preventive measures.
Colds, flu and respiratory illness
Our GPs assess colds, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), sinusitis, sore throats and other respiratory symptoms. The appointment may include an examination, diagnosis, treatment advice and safety-net guidance about when to seek further care.
Common infections
Appointments are available for gastroenteritis, conjunctivitis, ear infections, hand, foot and mouth disease, strep throat and other common childhood illnesses.
Ongoing or chronic concerns
Your family GP can support longer-term health concerns through regular reviews, treatment and coordinated referrals. Book an appointment when symptoms persist, recur or affect your child’s normal activities.
Immunisation and preventive healthcare.
Preventive appointments help monitor your child’s health and protect against serious vaccine-preventable illnesses.
Childhood immunisation
The clinic follows recommended immunisation schedules so children receive vaccines at the appropriate ages. Bring your child’s vaccination history if requested.
Healthy Kids Checks
Health checks provide an opportunity to discuss growth, development, behaviour, nutrition, sleep and other age-appropriate health concerns with your GP.
Preventive advice
Your GP can offer practical, age-appropriate advice and help families understand symptoms, treatment plans and when additional assessment may be required.
Assessment supported by convenient pathology services.
Our GPs can assess possible allergies, review symptoms and arrange appropriate testing, treatment or specialist referral.
4Cyte Pathology is located within the medical centre, giving families convenient access to specimen collection and referred blood, urine and breath tests.
Preparing for the appointment
Bring relevant medical information, medication details and your child’s vaccination history. For allergy concerns, note possible triggers and the timing of symptoms.
Make an appointment when you are concerned.
You know your child best. Arrange a GP assessment for new, worsening, recurring or persistent symptoms.
Routine appointments
Book for common illness, immunisation, allergy concerns, preventive checks, growth or development questions and ongoing condition management.
Urgent symptoms
If your child is seriously unwell, has difficulty breathing, is unusually drowsy, has a severe allergic reaction or you believe the situation is life-threatening, call 000 or seek emergency care.
