What to expect.
What the assessment considers
Your consultation may explore attention, organisation, impulsivity, mood, sleep, physical health, childhood history and the effect of symptoms at home, study or work. ADHD cannot be confirmed from a single symptom or questionnaire alone.
Who provides care
Dr Haowei Shen provides initial adult ADHD assessment support. Other GPs may provide ongoing ADHD and Schedule 8 medication management for suitable patients with appropriate documentation and a clear treatment plan.

Book a long appointment. Bring specialist letters, previous assessments, a current medicine list and relevant school or workplace information. Reception can help select the appropriate appointment type.

Will I receive a diagnosis at my first appointment?
Not necessarily. A careful assessment may require more than one appointment, supporting information or specialist input.
Is medication guaranteed?
No. Any medicine depends on diagnosis, suitability, safety, regulatory requirements and the treating doctor’s clinical judgement.
Can the clinic continue medicine started elsewhere?
Possibly, when documentation is adequate and the doctor considers ongoing prescribing clinically appropriate and legally permitted.
