What to expect.
What is PrEP?
Pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, is medicine used by HIV-negative people to reduce the likelihood of acquiring HIV. It must be taken as prescribed and does not prevent other sexually transmissible infections.

Dr Suzana Kareva-Lega provides PrEP assessment, prescribing and follow-up. Your appointment includes a confidential discussion of your circumstances and the testing needed before treatment.
Results and follow-up
Repeat appointments help confirm that PrEP remains suitable, review adherence and side effects, and arrange HIV, STI and kidney monitoring. Urgent assessment is needed after a recent possible exposure because post-exposure treatment is time-sensitive.
