Camberwell Medical Group’s existing nursing services list asthma education and spirometry. Spirometry measures how much air you can breathe out and how quickly you can exhale.
A doctor may recommend testing when assessing respiratory symptoms or monitoring an existing condition. Results are interpreted alongside your symptoms, medical history and other relevant clinical information.
Ask reception whether there are any instructions you need to follow before your test, including questions about medicines.
Spirometry results form part of a broader clinical assessment and do not provide a diagnosis on their own.
Your appointment is based on your concerns, health history and individual clinical circumstances.
Discuss coughing, wheezing, breathlessness or other respiratory concerns.
Measure airflow and lung function using a spirometer.
Your clinician can explain the results and discuss whether further investigation or management is appropriate.
Reception can help you choose the appropriate appointment type.
